Employee Spotlight: Anthony Neff

Anthony Neff is one of the first employees to graduate from AAA Ohio Auto Club’s (OAC) Automotive Technician, Level 1 program. He first learned about this opportunity from his friend, a fellow AAA employee. Due to his noteworthy work ethic, Neff graduated 90 days early and currently works as an Automotive Technician, Level 2 at the AAA Car Care Plus on Bethel Road.

Neff’s favorite part of the job is building trusting relationships with his customers as he explains vehicle inspection results and provides honest recommendations on future maintenance needs. A daily work schedule consists of one oil change per hour, tire rotations, fluid flushes, mounting new tires, installing/testing batteries and doing full inspections. He aims to provide Five Diamond service by maintaining a detailed routine to ensure he never misses a step.

If you are looking to apply for the Level 1 program, Neff offers this advice: remember your ultimate goal when the work gets difficult. Not everything will come easy, but it’s important to keep your eye on the prize. An ambitious goal Neff would like to achieve this year would be to obtain three ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications in order to be promoted to an Automotive Technician, Level 3.

Outside of work Neff loves camping and being outdoors with family and friends. In the winter, he enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his partner and their two cats, Alfred and Molly.

When asked what he loves most about his work environment, Neff says his team members took him in and made him feel like family. Ray Conkle, the Bethel Car Care Plus manager, taught him a great work ethic and motivates him to perfect his skill. If a team member does not have a customer, they will volunteer to help others.

Neff feels that AAA is different from any other company he has worked for because of the investment the company has made in him. He also loves the endless opportunities that are available for him to grow within AAA. He is grateful for the Automotive Technician Mentor Program and is excited for the future.
