Ryan Trentman has been a travel agent with AAA for a little over two years. He learned about the job by applying to an open job posting on Indeed.com. His favorite part of being a travel agent is interacting with customers and helping them plan their vacations. A typical workday for Trentman includes greeting customers and doing a store walk-through to think of new ways to display merchandise. AAA Ohio Auto Club’s Five Diamond Standards are essential to Trentman. He aims to demonstrate those standards by giving his customers ample information that will allow them to make the best decisions concerning their vacations.Useful advice Trentman would give to aspiring travel agents would be to listen to what the member wants, and book the best trip you possibly can. Be open to learning new things on the job, like different vendors, products, and merchandise. Outside of work, Trentman is very active and enjoys playing sports as well as going out with friends. A future goal is to complete all of his objectives within his role.
Some of Trentman’s most memorable experiences on the job are the long lasting connections he’s made with members, and being personally requested by members to book their trips. Trentman states that a significant perk of working in the Lima retail store is that everyone is always looking out for one another and helping out whenever they can. In his opinion, AAA is different from other competitors because of all the added perks of being a member, such as discounts and having peace of mind when you are out on the road.
