CarFit is a free, interactive and educational program designed to improve older driver safety. Trained volunteers provide information to ensure the safest “fit” for older drivers and their vehicles.

Open to all senior drivers, ages 55+, the approximately 20-minute CarFit check-up involves a 12-point checklist, which includes line of sight over the steering wheel, seat belt usage, gas and brake foot pedal placements and other aspects of fitting safely and comfortably in a vehicle.

Note: CarFit does not assess driving ability.

As a special treat, this event will also feature a picnic as part of the Office for Older Adults’ Summer Picnics on the Patio series. So take a few minutes to ensure a safe car fit, then enjoy a lunch that includes jumbo chili cheese dogs, chips, dessert and a drink. The picnic is $4 for seniors and $5 for those under 60. CarFit checks are free.
