Throughout the year, special occasions like Memorial Day, graduations, weddings, football games, and holiday parties provide opportunities to celebrate with family and friends. Unfortunately, celebrations can also lead to drunk driving, which is a top safety concern and the leading cause of traffic-related fatalities and injuries on America’s roads.
To help you plan safe, enjoyable parties, we asked AAA Ohio Auto Club associates to share their favorite mocktail recipes. The public voted on their favorites, and we compiled the recipes into a guide. In this series of blog posts, we present some of the winners. Enjoy!
- ½ c. ice
- 1 ½ c. simple syrup
- 1 c. cherry juice
- 1 c. unsweetened cranberry juice
- 750 mL sparkling water (flavored works well)
- 2 lemons, thinly sliced
- Fresh mint
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
For the simple syrup: Combine water and sugar over medium heat in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to help dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
For the bellini: Place the ice in a punch bowl. Add the simple syrup, cherry juice and cranberry juice. Stir well. Slowly pour in the sparkling water. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices, if desired.
