Traditionally, the automotive services industry has been a male-dominated field. But in recent years, the landscape has evolved to a place where more and more women are showing their strength, vision, and leadership.
This year on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who
help make AAA Mobile Car Battery Service available to more than sixty million Members across the country.
Let’s take a closer look at the journey of a AAA car battery as it passes
through the hands of many hardworking women before being installed in a Member’s vehicle.
Building Top of the Line AAA Batteries
AAA car batteries are long-lasting and of the highest quality. Many of these premium batteries are assembled and inspected by women at East Penn Manufacturing (EPM) in Pennsylvania. In 2019, more than 2,000 women were employed by EPM, helping to bring top-quality car batteries to AAA Members throughout the U.S.
Supplying AAA Car Batteries Across America
AAA car batteries are distributed across America to thousands of AAA Battery Service Providers by Club Assist, the Preferred Supplier for the AAA Mobile Battery Service Program. Club Assist proudly employs 58 women at every level. From field operations to the executive suite, women account for 30% of their total workforce. Club Assist ensures AAA Battery Service Technicians are properly trained and outfitted with AAA premium car batteries, along with the tools they need to accurately test and replace a Member’s battery.
A Phone Call Away 24/7
Dead batteries have no respect for important appointments or special occasions. When Members call 1-800-AAA-HELP for roadside assistance, the call
is directed to a local AAA call center where help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Call center operators, many of whom are women, are trained to assess the Member’s concern and quickly send help when they need it most.
Batteries Delivered and Installed in Your Driveway
AAA Mobile Car Battery Service is one of the most popular services available with AAA Membership. When it’s time for a new battery, Members can bypass the parts store and repair shop. Instead, they can have a car battery delivered and installed in their driveway by a qualified AAA Battery Service Technician.
More and more women are joining the ranks of these talented Technicians. In fact, two women from AAA recently qualified to compete at the Battery Service Skills Challenge® Championship in Washington D.C. Throughout
the competition, they showed off their advanced Member service and technical skills.
From the roadside to the boardroom, women in the automotive repair and maintenance industry are on the rise! AAA is proud to have a strong network of outstanding women who help define the AAA Mobile Battery Service Program.
